Crab Cakes and Birthday Cakes -- No dishes characterize coastal Maryland better than jumbo shrimp and flounder stuffed with sweet blue crab, and Rip's -- one of Al Mozier's better-liked eateries -- got 'em by the mounds.  On the same weekend his kin assembled for his funeral, they also celebrated three birthdays amongst  two grandchildren and a grandnephew.  Contemplating the meaning of all this in Uncle Al's usual corner seat, mulling over his clam chowder, I let Angela (age 12), Alexis (8),  Jason (10) and Amanda (4!) take over my camera for candids. Their Uncle Charles was most pleased with the results.

Photos are taken with the Canon Pro70 digital camera, with flash.
