Pinnacles National Monument -- About 75 miles south of the Bay Area near Salinas, the Pinnacles are remnants of the core of an ancient volcano.  A quarter of this core has been torn away for the past 35,000 years, now 350 miles away to the south.  This is prime wine country.

Photo is taken with the Canon Elan, 35-80mm zoom lens, scanned ISO200 film on Kodak PhotoCD.
