Trollfjord, Norway

Quintessential Norway -- The Norwegians love to name natural wonders after their mythical mascot: mountains, rivers, gorges, caverns and most certainly fjords.

This one, a favourite detour amongst cruise ships, coastal steamers and day-trip boats alike, cuts 2km into the island of Austvågøy from the Raftsundet, a narrow strait separating the Lofoten Isles from the Vesterålen Isles.

These photos are taken with the Canon G1 digital camera aboard the coastal steamer M/S Vesterålen.
