Kauai

Waimea Canyon -- Aptly named "The Grand Canyon of the Pacific," this is the colorful remains of an ancient volcanic ridge, sculpted by  the Waimea River.  Similar terraforming occurs throughout the Hawaiian archipelago, but the results at this scale can be witnessed only at Kauai, the oldest of the islands.

This photo is taken with the Canon Pro70 digital camera.
